HERE, THERE & EVERYWHERE photo exhibition opens today
Here There & Everywhere features photographic works from three separate projects, brought together by common threads: visual storytelling and a deep connection with people and their places.
‘The Australians’ by Stephen Dupont reveals life beyond the usual official portraits, literally throwing off the white backdrop on his subjects, including David Field (actor), Anthony Mundine (boxer), and Ben Quilty (artist).
‘Dream Summer’ by Tom Williams captures gentle scenes of humanity, taken spontaneously with a simple plastic-lens camera on a road trip around his hometown of Wollongong and surrounds.
Lastly, a retrospective of the Head On Portrait Prize features all of the winners, plus some of the best entries, from 2004 to 2016. These are images from both emerging and professional photographers that tell a story – evoking emotions without ever prescribing to the viewer what or how to feel.
Open daily from 5th to 31st May at Wollongong Central during centre trading hours, the exhibition is free of charge and is complemented by two free workshops with Tom Williams (13th May) and Stephen Dupont (20th May).
Here There & Everywhere is curated and produced by aMBUSH Gallery and presented with Wollongong Central as part of Head On 2017.

Don't Look Away preview
Thanks to the media, my friends and colleagues who came along last night to support the preview launch of my new one man show "Don't Look Away" at Darlinghurst's Eternity Playhouse Theatre. Special thanks to all the wonderful folks at Canon Australia who are the backbone of my show, Roshan, Natasha, Kate, Chris, Alan, Steve, Jason...and many more. There would be no show without the amazing collaboration with these talented folks as well, my beautiful partner Elizabeth, David Field, David Bridie, Untitled Films and Jacques Menasche.
After a successful premiere at MONA's Mofo festival in January my show comes to Sydney as part of the Vivid Festival where I'll be performing four shows at the Museum of Contemporary Art (MCA). Dates for these shows to be announced soon.
